Inhaltsangabe

Keera Miles’s spirit guide warns her when the future looks ugly. The worst thing is, sometimes he doesn’t.

When three ruthless Russian mercenaries burst into her living room, Keera—an anthropology professor with a secret gift for astral travel—is dragged into a high-stakes kidnapping scheme. Her wealthy oil-executive father is the target, but Keera is the leverage. Doused with drugs, chained to a motel bed, and forced to film a hostage video, her psychic abilities are her only weapon.

Across town, investigative journalist Zachary Bones knows something is terribly wrong the moment he finds Keera's home empty and her handbag dumped on the coffee table. The police think she just walked out on him. But Zach knows better. Guided by cryptic clues and a unexpected message from the spirit world, Zach embarks on a desperate cross-country pursuit to save the woman he loves.

Bound by chains and running out of time, Keera must use her astral vision to stay one step ahead of a lethal former Soviet commander, a trigger-happy killer, and the shadowy American oil tycoon pulling their strings.

Can Zach reach her before her captors decide she’s worth more dead than alive?

Amazon Customer reactions: "Keera was feisty and enjoyable no matter what." "A sharply plotted story-line, full of intriguing characters." "The dialogue is darkly witty and hums like power lines."

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Parker Rimes has spent his life in Europe, Australia, the UK and the US. When not writing, he starts four or five books a week. Some of them he completes. His favorite pastime is discovering new verbs and wishing he'd thought of them first. He likes animals but prefers that most of them stay in their own home. His favorite wines are those sold close to wherever he lives. In the course of his journalist life, he interviewed over a thousand people who claimed paranormal experiences occurred in their homes. Many of these stories seemed truthful. Diligent research for his novels led him to enroll in a school for mediums, where he failed nearly every psychic test. But he can now predict where to find a good parking space slightly better than the average person.
