If you have already bought the Fastlines Primer and Intermediate books for jazz guitar, or if you are a guitarist who already has a very good facility on the instrument and knowledge of scales and arpeggios, then this book is for you.

WHAT DOES THIS BOOK OFFER?

1. This book contains twenty two jazz guitar "licks" (or lines) usually over four bars in length.
2. Each line has a detailed description of how the melodies were created and work against the chords shown. The Fastlines are played twice, slow then fast. All music comes in music and TAB notation so if you can't read music, you can still play all the music presented. All Fastlines have a QR code for immediate playback on smartphones and tablets.
3. All lines presented have been created over common jazz progressions that are used countless times in thousands of jazz standard songs.
4. There are ten written projects to help you understand the theory used in jazz music and guitar playing in general. You can then use these projects to expand the "line" ideas presented and to create solos that reflect your own musical style.
5. There is a short solo created by joining many of the Fastlines together. This solo shows how the lines can be joined together in a musical way to great effect.
6. There are five backing tracks of common jazz styles to play your newly learned Fastlines along with to hear them in context.

Ged Brockie has performed in almost every conceivable musical scenario over a thirty year period. His own band recordings comprise his own compositions, arrangements and performance with some of Scotland’s finest musicians (The Mirror’s Image - Circular Records 2009, The Last View From Mary’s Place - Circular Records 2004). He was one of the main writers in the Scottish Guitar Quartet (SGQ) recording three albums (Near The Circle 2001, Fait Accompli 2003, Landmarks 2005) touring across Europe to critical acclaim. The DVD “Five Innovations For Guitar & Orchestra - Circular Records 2011” featured Ged with a twenty one piece orchestra. He has also worked with the RSNO, OSO, Carl Davis, Hummie Mann, West End shows on tour, TV & radio, music industry events, all levels of music education from high school to university and has a wide range of compositions used in film, TV and media. Ged is the lead instructor and driving force behind GMI and guides the programs of learning within it.
