Inhaltsangabe

Complete good health is the basis for a good life, the life we aspire to and seek for our children both spiritually and physically. Guarding our health is a Mitzvah: "And you must guard your souls very carefully (Deuteronomy 4:15). As parents and teachers, we have an obligation to inculcate in the children entrusted into our hands the awareness of the Mitzvah of "Guard your soul" just like every other Mitzvah.A Healthy Future brings a treasury of sources from the TaNaKh (Hebrew Bible), the Talmud and halachic literature on the Mitzvah of "Guard your souls", and explains the basic elements of a healthy lifestyle. The book sets forth ways of educating our children at different ages in healthy habits in the area of hygiene, avoidance of dangers, healthy, proper nutrition, exercise and other physical activities, rest and sleep and more. This guidance is suitable for the lifestyle of those who observe the Torah and the commandments and has the approval of prominent present-day doctors and experts. The guidelines suggested are simple, practical and easy to implement and do not involve any special expenses."Done beautifully, in good taste and with wisdom." - - HaRav Ovadia Yosef z"l"This book deserves a place in every Jewish home and every Torah educational institution." - - Dr Geoffrey Greenfield, Pediatrician, Jerusalem
