Dan LoPresto is the Director of Information Protection and Privacy for a large hospitality organization and an adjunct professor in Webster University's Cybersecurity Master’s Program. In his capacity, Dan oversees data protection and privacy-related projects and is heavily involved in compliance with international and domestic privacy laws and regulations. In addition, his responsibilities extend into contract negotiations, associate investigations, and risk analysis. Throughout his career in the field of information technology and cybersecurity, Dan steadily builds on an ever-increasing skill set and has earned several accreditations allowing him to provide security and privacy governance across several organizations. Certifications include the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), SysAdmin Network Security (SANS) Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Dan's degrees include a Bachelor's of Science in Management Information Systems (MIS), a Masters in Computer Resources and Information Management, and Ph.D. coursework in Information Systems. Dan is the founder/principal of a technology solutions, sales, service, and security company and occasionally writes technical articles for an online blog. Dan also volunteers as the Communications Director for, and achieved Fellow status within, the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) of Central Florida.
