Inhaltsangabe

A Playbook for Building Value Based on Values. After failing out of college, Evan Dash entered the fire service. His six years as a firefighter were not only a time of personal growth but also a period where he embraced the core values of selflessness, teamwork, integrity, and the importance of enriching the lives of others. These values catapulted his career in corporate retail, where he rose to Senior Vice President of Macy’s.After his rapid ascension up the corporate ladder, Evan lost sight of the customer and neglected the principles that accelerated his success. When he was fired, his world came crashing down, leaving him in a dark place with his purpose and identity stripped overnight, until one day, he took the first step on a journey of self-discovery. Evan landed on his feet as an entrepreneur and founded a kitchen products business based on the simple mission of enriching the lives of others. In "A Dash of Good,” Evan vividly recounts how he bet on himself, leveraging the lessons and values from his firefighting days to build a business grounded in the principle of serving others. The book delves into how he navigated the challenges of the business world, from the initial stages of setting up his enterprise to overcoming the hurdles of growth, financing, competition, and negotiating the eventual sale of the company.Evan shares his unique approach to business, which contrasts sharply with conventional corporate strategies. He emphasizes the importance of cultivating a company culture centered on service, empathy, and community. His approach not only earned him the loyalty and trust of his customers and employees but also led to the creation of a valuable business.
