Jeryl Abelmann is a retired elementary school teacher. She is a recipient of Teacher of the Year for the San Ramon Valley Unified School District in California.She is a member of the Monterey Symphony Board of Directors and the Screen Actors Guild. The Monterey Symphony for the Central Coast recognized her on National Philanthropy Day for "outstanding contributions to the Monterey Symphony in the true spirit of changing the world with a giving heart". She loves movies, theater, writing, and traveling. She has two sons and four grandchildren. She and her husband live in northern California.
