Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

John wrote his first book in second grade. A group of Vampires was trying to stop a gang of Frankensteins from crossing over a bridge. The story didn't have a title but had 10 pictures and 6 words. The words included: Stop them! Get them! Uuugh! and Aaaagh! As John grew up he enjoyed reading books. But it was movies and TV shows that he truly loved. John grew up on a steady diet of sci-fi and action shows. His favorites included: Star Trek, Lost in Space, Buck Rodgers and the 21st Century, Space 1999, Wild Wild West, all James Bond movies, The A Team, Bonanza, and Star Wars 4, 5, & 6. At 14 he realized he truly loved to write when his older sisters told him his letters made them laugh. He knew something magical was happening. He would write something on a piece of paper, put it in the mail, and three days later someone would open the envelope, read his letter, and laugh. Writing extended beyond the bounds of time (days later) and space (his sisters were hours away at college). This seemed like science fiction to him. Time travel and teleportation. He discovered he could entertain someone without being physically present. John went to Ohio University (O.U.) and learned about television and film production and then started to write screenplays. He moved to Los Angeles, worked in production on movies and started writing scripts on the side. He got to the point where he wanted to write SOMETHING others would read. Most everyone he knew didn't read scripts. His family didn't and his non-production friends didn't. He set out to entertain people with a write a short story. "Space Spiders on Prom Day" (SSOPD) was supposed to be a 7-page short story. You see, he realized if a storyteller is not telling his (or her) stories then the storyteller is not really a storyTELLER. They're just a story WRITER — which is cool — but every writer wants (and needs) to share their stories with others. John wanted others to enjoy his stories. His SSOPD short story grew. He was surprised when he got to 50-pages. He never wrote a book before. Then it got to a 100-pages and he realized the first 100-pages were the "first act" of the story. He knew he was unconsciously using screenplay story structure to write a novel. This surprised him. He had never heard this being done before. This may the reason why people say they can "see" his story inside their head when they read it. John lives in LA with his awesome wife and two awesome boys. He writes because he loves it
