Persian Learner series is a modern multimedia-based instructional materials that consists of four parts. Part One and Part Two, cover the first-year elementary Persian program for grade 9-12 and college students and designed to develop basic to intermediate Persian proficiency through authentic materials with integrated languages skills and thematic contents enriched with culture. Part Three covers the second-year intermediate Persian program and targets Novice high to intermediate proficiency levels. It intends to bring intermediate learners to the advanced territory, so the tasks focus primarily on narrating in all time frames, describing and comparing objects, places, and concepts in details, dealing with familiar social situations with complications, problem solving and expressing opinions. Part Three can be used for two semesters. Persian Learner series has been developed based on the latest language learning standards that define clear-cut student learning objectives. Lessons have been sequenced based on the complexity of language tasks and spiraled up in line with the intended proficiency levels. The set has been primarily designed as classroom textbooks but can also be used as a tutorial. It has a companion website and a free online dictionary app. The textbooks come also with an Instructor’s Guide and a Basic Grammar & Verbs reference. Instructors with a verifiable college email address can register at the web site and access sample units, table of contents, sample exams, suggested syllabi and other resources to examine the possibility of textbook adoption. Persian Learner series has been supported by the Farhang Foundation and USC Dornsife Department of Middle East Studies.
