Roy Eidelson, PhD, has been a practicing clinical, research, and political psychologist for over thirty years. His work focuses on applying psychological knowledge and principles to issues of social justice and political change. The former executive director of the University of Pennsylvania’s Solomon Asch Center for Study of Ethnopolitical Conflict, Eidelson is a member of the Coalition for an Ethical Psychology and an outspoken advocate in opposing torture and restoring psychology’s commitment to do-no-harm ethics. He is also a past president of Psychologists for Social Responsibility and a recipient of the organization’s Anthony J. Marsella Prize for the Psychology of Peace and Social Justice. In addition to Political Mind Games, Eidelson has published dozens of articles in scholarly peer-reviewed journals, and his writing has appeared in outlets including the Washington Post and Los Angeles Times. He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
