A Cyber-Physical System (CPS) is an integration of cyber components with their physical counterparts. A cyber unit could be either a software or hardware. Physical components are those objects, which are governed by the law of physics. CPS have transformed how we interact with the physical world, ranging from sensing the environmental parameters to controlling a complex manufacturing industry.

Tushar Semwal has a Masters and PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Guwahati. He is a recipient of the prestigious 4-year research fellowship award from TCS India, for his industry applicable research. He has won several travel grants from Microsoft, SERB India, and TCS. He is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Edinburgh working on Cyber-Physical Systems for offshore energy. His research interests include IIoT, sensor system design, and privacy-aware ML.
Faiz Iqbal has a PhD in Manufacturing-Automation from IIT Delhi, India. He is currently working as a post-doctoral researcher in the School of Engineering, the University of Edinburgh. He has to his credit several research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences. He secured funding for a COVID-19 project which he successfully delivered and was nominated for the Scottish Knowledge Exchange award in the COVID-19 collaborative response category. His research interests are Industry 4.0, CPS, advanced manufacturing, industrial automation, and mechatronics.
