Bruce C. Gates is Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of California, Davis, where he has been a faculty member since 1992.

Robert L. Powell is Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Chemical Engineering and of Food Science and Technology at the University of California, Davis, where he was a faculty member from 1984 to 2021.
