Joseph dies and awakens in a barren and timeless wasteland of dust and darkness.
Caught in the crossfire of the final, cosmic war between Heaven and Hell, Joseph must survive a Purgatory constructed of his own fragmented and heartbreaking memories. He is not a warrior, but a father, desperate to rebuild the "collapsed cathedral of his mind" and find the family he left behind.
But time is running out. As the armies of Armageddon clash, Joseph must piece together the ruins of his life to reclaim his identity and find his family—or risk fading into the dust forever.
A visionary journey into the afterlife, The Book of Joseph is a lyrical, haunting exploration of memory, grief, redemption, and a father’s desperate quest to protect his family at the end of time.
"I reach for my thoughts but no real memories exist here, only fleeting fragments of a former life. I strain to piece together the collapsed ruins of my mind’s cathedral."
From the Author In this debut novella, a fusion of apocalyptic fiction, epic prose poetry, and end-of-times fiction, the author draws upon his own memories, his historical research into the Great War, and his Acadian, Irish, and Welsh roots to explore the landscape of spiritual survival and human memory.
