Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Arthur Hughes enseñó lingüística aplicada en la Universidad de Reading durante veinticinco años, y allí estableció y dirigió la Unidad de Pruebas y Evaluación. Tras su licencia de Reading, dirigió proyectos de evaluación del idioma inglés en la Universidad del Bósforo, Estambul (1982-4) y en el Ministerio de Educación Secundaria, Marruecos (1992-3). Fue cofundador-editor de la revista internacional Language Testing, ha publicado numerosas publicaciones en el campo de las pruebas y ha realizado consultorías en el Reino Unido y en varios países del exterior. Ahora jubilado, continúa escribiendo y actuando como consultor, dividiendo su tiempo entre las zonas rurales de Gales y el sur de España.
