It was plainly his Delign to teach Trypho, and his Companions, that there was another Divine Person, another, who is call'd, and who is, Lord and God, besides God the Father: and this he could not easily do in a Manner more intelligible, and less offensive, to these Jews, than in such Expressions as these. But this Writer seems to urge that he is call'd numerically another, though not in Will. But surely it will not follow, because he is said to be the fame in Will, that he is not the fame in Essence. Rather the contrary: For the Word -- ynufw -- answers to the Latin -- confilium -- and seems to denote the Understanding, as well as Will. To be the fame therefore -- yuapy -- in Counsel-- with the Father, is surely too high a Privilege for a Creature.
