Not illustrated. 1907 Excerpt: ... his education in Bremen, Germany, and started life in commercial pursuits. After a few years, however, he gave this up and became a music hall entertainer, after which he was a member of the Compton Comedy Company for seven years. He was for two seasons under J. L. Toole's management and then played Spettigue in "Charley's Aunt" for three consecutive years at the Globe Theatre. Mr. Paxton next supported Martin Harvey in "The Only Way" and then joined Weedon Grossmith in "The Night of the Party." He accompanied Mr. Grossmith to this country in this play the season of 1902-03, playing Alderman Hargen, also understudying the star, and upon several occasions was compelled to play the leading role while here. Upon returning to his native country Mr. Paxton was for three years manager of two theatres in Southampton. But he returned to the world of paint and powder in 1900, appearing in London in "The Electric Man" and "The Setting of the Sun," a double bill. He was also business manager of the Zancigs during their tour of England. Assuredly this has been a busy career, strangely combining business and acting, and Mr. Paxton shows rare ability at having made a success of both. Fort Logan, Mont., and she began her stage career with a traveling company in that section of the country. Her first good chance in the east was in the role of Ah Yoi in the one-act Chinese play, "The Cat and the Cherub," produced at Hammerstein's Olympia Theatre, September 20, 1897. Included in the cast of this play was Holbrook Blinn, now the husband of Miss Benson, and they both appeared in London in the piece on October 30, 1897.
