Brother: I11 conformity with the resolution adopted by the Grand Lodge, June 7,1888, I herewith moat respectfully submit the twenty-third annual report of the German Masonic Temple Association for the year endin_1__r December 31, 1899. A review of the past prompts us to a grateful acknowledginent of the manifold blessings which we enjoy. Never before in the history of our Association have the brethren taken a deeper interest in the pei-fornuince of every duly assigned to them. Never before have our efforts received such generous encouragement n11d approbation. Our Heavenly Father has dealt kindly with us, and to Him we reverently tender our thanks. At the same time, I consider it my solemn duty to mention here the names of those brethren who have been called hence to join the great eternal legion, who in their lives were atanch friends of o11r Association and contributed time and means for the maintenance of our Institution; brethren whose lives stand forth as beacon lights, examples to coming generations: Allemania Lodge, No. 740, was admitted, upon application, to membership in our Association, June 4th; this event is of special significance, as it leaves but one Lodge of the twenty-eight constituting the Ninth Masonic District, outside the fold. It is to be hoped that some dny KingSolomon Lodge, No. 279, will be one of us, thereby completing the chain that binds ns together in this labor of love. We cannot permit this opportunity to pass without tendering to the brethren of King Solomon Lodge our heartfelt thanks for the generous response which...
