Though current doctrine clearly identifies what the Army must do on a macro level regarding leader development in general, it lacks specifics when dealing with developing the staff. Utilizing the techniques developed by collegiate head coaches to develop their staff, the Army can gain resources to support its efforts on developing its staff. Coaching as a method is paramount to the premise of leader development and it is an area which directly supports development of staffs and subordinates.
