Inhaltsangabe

The Time of the Toad: A Study of Inquisition in America by One of the Hollywood Ten is a non-fiction book written by Dalton Trumbo. The book is a detailed study of the Inquisition in America, specifically during the period of the Hollywood Ten trials. The Hollywood Ten were a group of filmmakers who were blacklisted by the Hollywood studios due to their alleged communist affiliations. Trumbo was one of the members of the Hollywood Ten and he wrote this book while he was in prison for refusing to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee. The book explores the history of the Inquisition in America, its impact on the Hollywood Ten, and the political and social climate of the time. Trumbo provides a firsthand account of the events that led to his imprisonment and the experiences of other members of the Hollywood Ten. The book is a powerful commentary on the importance of free speech and the dangers of political censorship. It is a must-read for anyone interested in the history of American politics, the film industry, and civil liberties. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
