Master the principles, practices, and applications of bionanotechnology

This hands-on guide covers all aspects of bionanotechnology from an engineering perspective. Developed from an advanced engineering course taught by its authors, Bionanotechnology: Engineering Concepts and Applications fully explains all of the underlying principles and shows how to apply that theory in practical ways. You will get examples, problem sets, and real-world case studies that illustrate each concept. This textbook discusses a wide variety of topics, including general physics, fluid flow, thermodynamics, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and microfabrication.

Coverage includes:

  • An introduction to bionanotechnology
  • Nanomaterials and microfluidics
  • Forces, thermodynamics, and fluid flow
  • Fluid transport and applications
  • Electrophoretic flow
  • Dielectrophoretic force
  • Fluid transport methods
  • Optical detection and quantum dots
  • DNA and RNA bionanotechnology
  • Lab-on-a-chip bionanotechnology
  • Microfabrication and nanofabrication
  • Applications of bionanotechnology
