Those letters, letters from Lucy’s mother and other letters reveal much about them and about the rough life in poor, rural Kentucky at the time. This publication of "Lucy’s Letters" contains transcriptions of the 70+ letters and postcards plus some background information and photos about the families and locales of their early life.
