In 1908 his work was further recognized by the establishment of a Department of Agricultural Economics, of which he had full charge until 1919, when, with an ambition to be of greater use to the farmers of America, he accepted the position of Chief of the Office of Farm Management of the United States Department of Agriculture.
In '1921, the Bureaus of Markets, Crop Estimates, and the Office of Farm Management were combined, and Dr. Taylor was made Chief of this combination, which is now known as The Bureau of Agricultural Economics.
