Since that day, however, the so-called quacks have grown to an innumerable host, so great in fact, that they make Medical Boards here and in England somewhat apprehensive. The char latan in this case is not necessarily a fakir or pretender; rather is he one who studies and ap plies the laws of Mind to the cure of bodily ail ments. The bold quack who uses in the case of the widely known lady the force of asser tion, is only doing what Sir James Paget him self might have done, had he only been willing to admit that there are some things to be learned which are not necessarily in medical text books.
