In the following account of my life, which I began in the early part of last month, and have finished as far as I am capable this morning, I wish all who may read it, to endeavor to put themselves in sympathy with me as I then was, to whom the events and incidents re lated have all been a sober and sometimes a painful reality, and to understand that, to the very best of my knowledge and belief, it. Is a true picture of me and of my then condition; that they therefore may study it as representing the environments that have evolved my character, and the me that makes this record.
