From the standpoint of the teacher, who is interested in the child's world, the interpretation of a difficulty, and the enlarged child's world as a result of the new experience, the unit of activity is a project, and the development goes on through the project method. From the standpoint of the pupil, the primary interest is in the difficulty or problem, and its interpretation, and the development goes on through the problem method. Whether the method of human develop ment, therefore, shall be called the project or the problem method depends upon the viewpoint.
