Logic is described as the science of the laws of thought as thought, focusing exclusively on the form, rather than the matter, of human thought. The author emphasizes the distinction between the empirical and speculative considerations of logic, establishing the latter as an independent science concerned with the necessary elements of thought. Throughout, the book provides a nuanced exploration of the nature of thought, its essential characteristics, and the historical evolution of perspectives on logic's object and domain. This comprehensive and thought-provoking work serves as a valuable resource for students and scholars seeking a deeper understanding of the foundations and intricacies of logic.
