May we not regard it as an approval by patrons and friends of the policy pursued by the authorities of the College, in regard to the independent existence of the Institution, as well as a voice of encouragement to go forward in their work. It is also known to us that some gentlemen of wealth have liberal intentions in respect to the College. And we may consider as one of the brighter hues in this how of promise, the success that has attended the united and cordial invitation to a distinguished son of the College to accept the vacant Presidency.
