Excerpt from Outlines of Equity
The following pages are little more than the repro duction in print of a Course of Elementary Lectures on Equity, recently delivered at the request of the Incorporated Law Society.
It has been represented to me by friends of my own profession, who have read my Lectures, that the publi cation of them is likely to be useful; that while a voluminous treatise alarms a beginner, a condensed manual, containing often in a single sentence the abstract result of a mass of decision, is beyond his strength; and that the following sketches are well suited to convey elementary knowledge in Equity, both to gentlemen reading in Barristers' Chambers, and to students such as those to whom my oral teaching was addressed.
