Excerpt from Introduction to Chemical-Technical Analysis
IT is generally conceded that it is advisable to give students of chemistry as broad an experience as possible in the use of analytical methods, in order to have them acquire skill in manipulation and to acquaint them with the important bearing of chemical analysis.
This experience can, in a great measure, be obtained by supple menting the usual preparatory courses in gravimetric and volu metric analysis with instruction in the execution of methods which are being constantly applied in the analysis of industrial products. The authors of this book have had much experience in teaching chemical-technical analysis, and in the following pages have pre sented many methods of this description in a series of examples, selected from a variety of products. They have been very fortunate in their choice, and have undoubtedly done much to assist the earnest student.
