What pure Chriftianity is, diveflted of all its ornaments, appendages, and corruption, I pretend not to fay but what it is not, I will venture to afiirm, which is, that it is not the offspring of fraud or fiction: fuch, on a fu perficial View, I know it mufi: appear to every man of good fenfe, whofe fenfe has been altogether employed on Other fubjeéts but if any one will give himfelf the trouble to examine it with accuracy and candor, he will plainly fee, that however fraud and fic tion may have grown up with it, yet it ne ver could have been grafted on the fame flock, nor planted by the fame hand.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book argues that Christianity challenges pagan moral principles by introducing a system of ethics that emphasize different virtues. The author claims that Christian ethics, unlike pagan ethics, focus on meekness, forgiveness, detachment from worldly pursuits, and a belief in a future heavenly existence. The author asserts that these Christian virtues are essential for attaining salvation, which is the central goal of the Christian faith. This book provides a unique perspective on the evolution of moral thought and highlights the transformative impact of Christian teachings on human conduct and spiritual beliefs. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
