Excerpt from Old Faiths and New Facts
Inasmuch as the general question of the nature and extent of the Divine presence has not been so fully or directly treated as the others, perhaps a few words of explanation will be of interest, especially as that portion of it which concerns God's sympathetic relations with his Children is Closely interwoven with my after-argument.

Excerpt from Old Faiths and New Facts
The first two subdivisions of my theme appeared not long ago as separate series of articles in the pages of the Bibliotheca Sacra. That on Prayer had the good fortune to attract the attention of Bishop J. H. Vincent, who was so favorably impressed with it that he suggested that it be submitted to the Board of Councilors of the Chautauqua Literary and Scientific Circles, of which he has long served as Chancellor, with a view to the incorporation of the paper into the prescribed course of reading. This was done, and the series, meeting with acceptance, was published in book form, and became a part of the literature of the circles for 1894, reaching thereby a very large and widely distributed class of most eager inquirers.
This fact has encouraged the present grouping; and if those into whose hands this little volume may chance to fall shall derive from it one tithe of the spiritual reassurance and uplifting its preparation has afforded me I will feel most amply repaid.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book re-examines long-held beliefs about the natural world, which held that prayer was ineffectual and that life beyond death was unlikely. The author, a prominent theologian, critiques these notions by drawing upon contemporary advances in science. Blending philosophy with physics and incorporating new knowledge of biology and psychology, he constructs a new framework for theism, offering a fresh perspective on God's relationship with the world. The author argues that God is not a distant figure but an active and present force in our lives and that prayer is a meaningful way to connect with the divine. This book provides a compelling argument for the existence of God and the power of prayer, offering a much-needed update to traditional religious thinking.
