What is thus given, with the accompanying notes, makes no pretence Of completeness. My Object, sug gested by the style of our higher instruction, was to indicate leading thoughts, historical connections, sources to be further worked out. Thus only a few citations are given from Descartes and Spinoza himself, while more is quoted from works which are difficult Of access. There is still much to do for a correct knowledge of Spinoza.
