Reseña del editor

Excerpt from The Jacobite War in Ireland (1688-1691)

The Manuscript which we print was not known to previous editors; it is now at Clon gowes Wood College, but in 1756 it was in the library of the Dublin Residence of the Society of Jesus, as is shown by a Latin entry on the fly-leaf. Thus it is older than the five other copies at present in evidence. It consists of thirty-three pages of foolscap, closely written in a clear and beautiful hand. It is more free from errors, crisper and more direct in language than the other mss.

It transports readers to a time of political upheaval, religious tension, and military conflict, as Catholic King James II sought to reclaim his throne from the Protestant William of Orange.
