This system was developed as a resource for writing students as well as workers who wished to take notes without sacrificing either speed or accuracy. The method was used and refined in the classroom by the author for five years, with students going on to secretarial and other positions in which a mastery of shorthand was a key skill. Most of the shorthand methods in existence are framed around principles that require a user to master exceptions to the ruleâ"exceptions that, in practice, often use more time than longhand. This method was developed with the idea of avoiding those exceptions while still maintaining the simplicity and reliability of traditional shorthand.
