Excerpt from Labor and Other Capital: The Rights of Each Secured and the Wrongs of Both Eradicated
The laboring classes Of all civilized nations have been, and are, as a body, poor. Nearly all wealth is the pro duction Of labor therefore, laborers would have possessed it, had not something intervened to prevent this natural result. Even in our own country, where the reward Of labor is greater than in most others, some cause is Opera ting with continual and growing effect to separate pro duction from the producer. The wrong is evident, but neither statesmen nor philanthropists have traced it to its true source; and hence they have not been able to pro ject any plan sufficient for its removal.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the role of money throughout history, identifying its use in perpetuating wealth inequality. The author meticulously traces the power dynamics inherent in money's nature, introducing four properties it wields: representing value, measuring value, accumulating value, and facilitating exchange. These properties, created by law, enable money to influence distribution of wealth. Through clear examples, the book skilfully illuminates how money empowers a select few to accumulate significant wealth, reinforcing systemic injustice. The author contends that current monetary systems fail to fairly compensate labor, allowing capital to amass an undue share. This insightful examination concludes with a transformative solution: a shift in monetary policy to ensure a fairer distribution of wealth, connecting a just compensation to labor with a more equitable society.
