Excerpt from An Examination Into and an Elucidation of the Great Principle of the Mediation and Atonement: Of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

In the last chapter of St. Luke's Gospel is to be found a deeply interesting account of several events that took place on the day that the Redeemer was resurrected. Amongst other incidents, he relates that on that day two of the disciples took a melancholy journey from Jerusalem to the neighboring village of Emmaus. Whilst they walked, the sadness of their hearts found expression on their tongues, and they mournfully rehearsed to each other the story of the crucifixion of their Master. By and by, they were joined by an apparent stranger, who, though none other than the resurrected Savior, was not recognized by them. In answer to His inquiries, they repeated the sad history of the days just passed, and expressed the disappointment that His death had brought, for they trusted that it had been He who should have redeemed Israel. Then Jesus said unto them, "0 fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into His glory?

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book provides a deep exploration into the concept of the Mediation and Atonement of Jesus Christ. It delves into various religious scriptures, primarily from the Old and New Testaments, to present a comprehensive analysis of the prophecies, teachings, and events surrounding Christ's role as the Redeemer. The author meticulously examines the Old Testament prophecies that foretold Christ's coming and the significance of His suffering and death. They trace the development of the concept of atonement throughout history, drawing connections between the sacrificial system of the Old Testament and the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Central to the book is the exploration of the profound teachings of Jesus Himself, who proclaimed that He came to give His life as a ransom for many. The author examines the events leading up to Christ's crucifixion, including His betrayal, trial, and the anguish He endured, highlighting their pivotal role in the plan of salvation. Furthermore, the book delves into the testimonies of Christ's apostles and early Christian leaders who witnessed His resurrection and ascension. Their accounts provide powerful evidence of the reality of Christ's victory over death and its implications for humanity's redemption. This book offers a rich and thought-provoking examination of the doctrine of the Mediation and Atonement of Jesus Christ, shedding light on its historical, scriptural, and theological significance.
