The Holy Communion is both the highest act of worship possible to the Christian, and also the richest means open to him for the reception of supernatural grace. Hence the Holy Communion is called by the Church our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving; not an offering for sin, but a thank-offering for a perfected redemption. But there is an other view of the blessed Sacrament. To the believing soul it is the means of a true and living union with the glorified Redeemer.
