Excerpt from Medical Logic
The purpose which this work is intended to fulfil is more fully explained in the Introduction. I shall therefore only say here as much as is necessary to obviate, at the outset, a misunderstanding to which its title might give rise. It can scarcely be necessary, indeed, to assure the reader that Logic, in its ordinary signification, is not here meant, but only the application of certain rules and principles of logic to the study of natural science in general, and of medicine in particular. Our aim, therefore, is a. Purely practical one - man, to show, clearly and impressively, the mode in which we must proceed in our observations, investigations, and conclusions, in order that our Theorems and Problems may become more clearly intelligible, and that we may arrive at experimental truths and definite laws in our department of science, as well as at scientific principles of practice.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book defines medical logic as the application of logic to the study of natural science in general and medicine in particular as a practical guide for medical practitioners. The author, a philosopher and medical doctor, recognizes the gap between philosophy and logic and the medical community and aims to bridge this gap and improve medical practices. They argue that observation and sentiment are not enough to diagnose and treat illnesses. Instead, the profession needs to establish a process by which doctors can make observations, diagnoses, and prognoses, so that their theorems and problems become more clearly intelligible and reliable. A method that can be used across the field of medicine from patient care to scientific research and hypothesis development. The author provides extensive detail and examples of how this logical method can transform medical practices. If you are a medical practitioner who wants to enhance their diagnostic and treatment decisions, this book can provide you with a specific logical process and method to improve your outcomes.
