Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. Step into the uproarious world of Victorian farce with this delightful three-act play. Set against the backdrop of late 19th-century England, the author masterfully weaves a tale of mistaken identities, comical misunderstandings, and the timeless pursuit of love and social acceptance. The story revolves around a young man entangled in a web of financial woes and familial expectations. His attempts to navigate the complexities of societal norms and his own desires lead to a series of hilarious encounters with a cast of eccentric characters, including a pompous tailor yearning for the upper class, a well-meaning but bewildered landlady, and an irascible uncle with a penchant for chaos. Through witty dialogue and slapstick humor, the play explores themes of class consciousness, generational conflict, and the absurdity of social pretensions. The author's keen observations of human nature and the idiosyncrasies of Victorian society provide a rich tapestry for this side-splitting comedy of errors. Ultimately, this book offers a timeless reflection on the importance of staying true to oneself amidst the pressures of societal expectations and the comical consequences that ensue when we try to be something we're not.
