Excerpt from Robert Ramble's Stories: Selected From the History of Spain
The following narratives are chiefly drawn from Mrs. J amieson's Stories from Spanish His tory, and the historical works of Dr. Robertson. They contain much that is calculated to interest and instruct the youthful mind. A careful dis crimination is made throughout between the nar ratives which rest on authentic historical docu ments, and those which are drawn from popular tradition. The intimate connexion between the history of Spain and that of the New World, in the period of discovery, adventure, and conquest, will, it is presumed, render this little volume an acceptable present for American children.
