It discusses Trapezuntius's role as a teacher of rhetoric and philosophy in Rome under Pope Eugenius IV, his rivalry with other scholars, and his eventual move to Naples at the invitation of King Alphonus. The author examines Trapezuntius's many works, both in Greek and Latin, including his translations of ancient Greek authors into Latin, and analyzes his contributions to the fields of grammar, philology, and philosophy. The book provides a comprehensive overview of Trapezuntius's life and career, and sheds light on the intellectual climate of the early Renaissance.
