Scene - The drawing-room of Chatsworth, th hoskins' villa at Balham. The room is furnished partly in asolid old-fashioned style, and partly in a modern would-be smart suburban style.' A heavy gil' clock and some massive vases are on, the chimney these are flanked by a quantity of'tiny china animals. On the walls are ornamental plush brackets, holding vases and figures, one or two staring portraits, and some engravings from popular pictures. A large Teddy bear on a chair. 'beside the fender is a life sized china cat. An imitation palm is on a side table, and a rubber plant in the window.
