Excerpt from Christian Progress: A Sequel to the Anxious Inquirer After Salvation
It is not, however, of the progress of theo logical science, as it is found in the systems of divines, and as it shall clear away the clouds and mists which hang over men's minds, and hide the glory of the great luminary of the World, that I now write, but of the progress of truth in the individual mind and heart and character; of that blessed growth in spiritual life which is to be the supreme. Object of every one who has passed through a state of religious solicitude, and which carries forward the soul of the anxious inquirer to the condition of the established believer.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book offers guidance on progressing from a state of initial faith and belief towards a more advanced and fulfilling understanding of Christian living, helping to support and illuminate the journey towards God. The author suggests that while many start this journey with hopeful enthusiasm, they often encounter a plateau, where they become satisfied with their current level of understanding and engagement with their faith. Yet true progress, the author argues, is not a state but a process, a journey of continuous growth and development toward spiritual maturity. The book examines the challenges and rewards of progress in Christian living and offers valuable insights, using a range of persuasive examples and scriptural references to illustrate the ideas presented. This book is an invaluable resource for those seeking to deepen their relationship with God and progress along the Christian path, contributing to a wider and more profound understanding of Christian spirituality.
