Inhaltsangabe

Excerpt from Manual of Unitarian Belief

As Unitarians have no creed, and as their union is one of sympathy and cc-operation, and not of formulas, no one among them has any right to define the views of others. A Manual such as this is meant simply to express what, in the Opinion of the writer, is the general belief of the majority of Unitarians. Every proposition contained in it is liable to discussion, correction, and revision. No one is bound by it; and it does not attempt to limit thought, but rather to stimulate and rouse inquiry.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the core beliefs and principles of Unitarianism, a branch of Christianity that emphasizes the oneness of God, the humanity of Jesus, and the inherent worth and dignity of every individual. It offers a historical context, tracing the evolution of religious thought from natural religion to revealed religion and the emergence of Christianity. The author explores key theological concepts such as the nature of God, the role of Jesus as a moral and spiritual leader, the significance of faith and belief, and the concept of the Holy Spirit. The book challenges traditional doctrines like the Trinity and original sin, advocating for a rational and progressive approach to understanding faith. Through insightful interpretations of biblical texts and engaging discussions on topics like atonement, prayer, and the afterlife, this book invites readers to contemplate the essence of religious belief and its impact on personal growth and social progress. By shedding light on the Unitarian perspective, it encourages individuals to embrace a faith rooted in reason, compassion, and the pursuit of a just and equitable world.
