Excerpt from Address of the Unconditional Union State Central Committee to the People of Maryland

The disorganizers were in the ascendant; motions for delay were thrust aside, the resolutions of the Committee were adopted as embracing all that was necessary for State and National interests and a ticket put for ward with the full knowledge that by that act they divided the Union ranks without hope of remedy.
