Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book offers a detailed critique of the political career and public persona of David Lloyd George, one of the most controversial British politicians of the early 20th century. The author argues that Lloyd George's political ideology was characterized by a lack of principles and a self-serving pragmatism. The author traces the evolution of this ideology from Lloyd George's early days as a Welsh nationalist and pro-Boer activist, through his rise to prominence as a Liberal Party leader, to his eventual role as Prime Minister during World War I. The book also examines the impact of Lloyd George's policies on British society, particularly his controversial welfare reforms and his handling of the war effort. Ultimately, the book argues that Lloyd George's legacy is a mixed one, marked by both notable achievements and significant failures, but that his political methods should serve as a cautionary tale about the dangers of unprincipled populism.
