Excerpt from The Life of Rufus Choate
The first edition of the Works of Mr. Choate, with the Memoir of his Life, was early disposed of, and for many years it has been almost impossible to obtain a copy. In the mean time the wish has been frequently expressed that the Life might be republished by itself. In accordance with this desire, the present edition has been prepared. Although in the main unchanged, it will be found to contain some additions in the form of letters, reminiscences, and selections from the writings of Mr. Choate.
