Excerpt from Methods of Teaching Primary Grades: Course
The work suggested in the following pages is for the teacher's use only. It is not for the pupil.
The children in the primary classes should be from seven to nine years of age. In some religious schools pupils are accepted at a much earlier age. Infant classes are popular with some denominations. If chil dren from four to seven years are admitted they can be taught songs and a few prayers, but experience has shown that to teach Bible stories and to do other reli gions school work, seven years should be the minimum age.
The class is a primary one and not in any sense a kindergarten. The pupils are Older than kindergarten age, and kindergarten material is not used.
In formulating a plan for educating children, whether it be in a secular or religious school, the first point to be considered is their physical welfare.

Ethical, storytelling, and religious observance lessons are blended to provide a comprehensive introduction to Judaism. This book positions the teaching of Judaism within a broader context of education and encourages teachers to foster a sense of curiosity and wonder in their lessons. The author provides teachers with tools to create thoughtful discussions on morality, Judaism, and Bible stories, blending them to help children develop a love for their religion and a foundation in ethical behavior. By using storytelling, the author hopes to connect children to Biblical characters and events, which will enhance their understanding of the religion and inspire them.
