The Colonial possessions of Spain in Amer ica in 1810, comprised the Viceroyalties of Alex ico, New Granada, Peru and Buenos Ayres and extended from Alaska to Cape Horn. The vari ous provinces of Guatemala, Panama, Venezuela, Ecuador and Chile, were subordinate, and in some matters of civil and military government, subject, to the Viceroy within whose jurisdiction the prov ince in question was included.
