At the present day, there are signs that this is passing, but it cannot be yet affirmed that Tennyson has taken his final rank (as Chaucer, Spenser, and Milton have taken theirs) among the poets of England. That his place, when assigned by Time and the educated judgment of men, will be a high one, few students pf poetry have any. Doubt.
