Excerpt from The Utter Extinction of Slavery an Object of Scripture Prophecy: A Lecture, the Substance of Which Was Delivered at the Annual Meeting of the Chelmsford Ladies' Anti-Slavery Association, in the Friend's Meeting-House, on Tuesday, the 17th of April, 1832
Notwithstanding so much has been said and published on the subject of Slavery, I have never known any observations to have been advanced, relating to its being clearly pointed out in the scriptures, as one of those evils which inspired predictions have devoted to utter extinction. This is one reason why I have considered it desirable to publish my thoughts, on the certainty of that event taking place; and to state my opinion of the proba bility, from existing circumstances, that its entire abolition is not far distant.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book focuses on the immorality of colonial slavery from a religious perspective. It argues that the enslavement of African people is a violation of God's laws and a sin against humanity itself. The author provides a historical overview of the transatlantic slave trade and the development of slavery in the British colonies. They draw on a wealth of biblical passages to condemn slavery as a violation of human rights and a crime against God. They also provide evidence of the brutality and inhumanity of slavery in the British colonies, including graphic accounts of the whippings, torture, and other forms of abuse that were inflicted upon enslaved people. The book concludes by calling for the immediate abolition of slavery and the liberation of all enslaved people. The author argues that this is not only a moral imperative but also a necessary step for the salvation of the nation.
